Why reveal herself now, for one. How is this expected to be balanced in future installments for another, now that it's out, is the second. Third is how what she's done is even remotely possible on the scale she's done it. And again, Academy only ever pointed to there being rather obvious pieces of technology involved when it came to this - not the seemingly physical abilities Claude has displayed. "The Traveler" was hinted to being more like Sola - traveling through time - not a wandering God/deity/whatever the hell definition you seem to think she does or doesn't qualify for. Her having power to that extent comes across as both convenient and abrupt - or at least the way it was exposed.
She doesn't reveal herself. She tries to pass it as having a bullsh*t Lost technology and faking chigara's report because of being clumsy. And yet everyone believes her, because, hey, it's Claude.
And the Traveler was implied to be an another whole level: she knew the Ebon fleet was coming, had the power to travel across dimensions, was implied to be untouchable even for the prototypes and gave them both a piece of Lost technology so powerful even the ancient Ryuvinas feared and the technology to reach Awakening on their own. That's above what even Ryuvian royalty in the time of Sola had. It she had been a simple traveler I would have been the one to call it an ass pull. And, as I said before, she actually has never pulled out something impossible, simply what Ryuvian technology has already shown as possible, so it's actually easy to gauge her powers.
And how it will be balanced? Well, simply because she won't use her powers. As Sola said, Claude is as much an enemy as Alpha; her plan to solve everything would be to return Sola and Crow to their time and probably reset a timeline or two. Right now she's with the captain on the chance everything can be solved without her having to do anything She can't even use her non-dimensional traveling powers too much; as she explained, too much interference from time travel and paradoxes would cause that universe to simply disappear, and she's a time traveler after all.
And on your second paragraph, it's you who's missing the point. If you really want so much to talk about it, make a poll or thread only about it, nobody will stop you.

Having that at all is a bad sign - it begs the question of where she got it, why she didn't use it before, ect.
I don't see how the Traveler was ever implied to be "another whole level" as opposed to someone who had access to the tech/devices that Sola was subjected to. The Wishwall's existence proves that dimension-hopping wasn't something you really had to be on "another whole level" to have access to. Having lost technology, knowing about the Ebon Fleet and dimension-hopping on it's own - none of that really implies more then another Ryuvian from Sola's era with a cache of more-intact tech then Sola has, not... whatever you're trying to equate the Traveler to here. So no, that doesn't match the extent of the power Claude's displayed so far (telepathy for lack of a better word with Alpha, immortality/teleportation, seeming omnipotence, ect), and if anything I'm shocked you wouldn't say the complete opposite - because it's this power that feels like the asspull; the Traveler was implied to be a "traveler", not a "deity/God."
That seems unlikely since at least a few people, like Sola, suspect/know what she is now, and she already had to tap her abilities to escape Cera. It's really hard to believe she's not going to up and use/abuse her powers again given the circumstances.
And on the second paragraph... no, I think you're honestly just trying to avoid talking about it anymore. This is a community-feedback page - I gave feedback on something I'm still seeing people complain about on the Steam forums; forced romance killing their experience. That ties into "community feedback" pretty intimately, so I don't see how I "missed the point" in advocating the way Kayto express plot-required love for Chigara be determinate between "sibling" and "lover".

It's certainly nice that the possibility for Chigara to be denied her bakery with Kayto exists now.
I mean, bakeries get you up so early in the morning to do your work, anyway. So droll.
Baking is always worth it though. Always.

Okay, I'll finish this here. I'm not denying your right to give feedback or even insist on the same thing continuously, but if you take a joke poking fun at that as "missing the point", then I've got nothing to do here.
On our argument about Claude, I'll just tell you I disagree. Everything points to the technology on the level of basically a continuous-use wishall and time traveling to be even beyond normal Ryuvian Emperors, and everything related to Awakening seems to be even worse given the mystic connotations it seems to have in Ryuvia, but we don't even agree on the level and weight of Claude's powers, so I'll simply leave it here.

Dude, it's the internet - intent is kinda hard to judge on these formats. Plus, when you go and say; See, that looks pretty cut-n'-dry. Where was there any indication that this was anything even close to a joke as opposed to an actual, serious, offhanded suggestion/recommendation out of not wanting to go on with it? You typically add something to clinch it's a joke - like an emoticon, maybe? And again with Claude, I point out that you're again overstepping what was known about the Traveler - the most we knew was that she was (A) a time-traveler and (B) a dimension-hopper. Not that she was pretty much an immortal psychic teleporter or the like. Regardless of the "level and weight" of Caude's powers, it still goes beyond what was hinted about the traveler.

Stream of Consciousnesses for 2.02 playthrough, reloaded save after Finished Game achievement popped. Spoilers because... well, I don't think anyone is going to show up here without actually playing 2.00
Thank god Asaga and Sola showed up. But I can't tell if Icari is breaking the fourth wall, or shes really just tsuntsuning super hard.
Claude is a god, or so close to one the distinction is meaningless to us. And shes talking about plot holes. Are you.... I don't know whether to laugh or tear my hair out. What the hell is this sensing bullshit. Just... whaaaaat. I guess she didn't pull this off before was because she hadn't Awakened yet.
Hey, it's Lynn. Haven't seen you for awhile. CHOOOOIIIICEEEEE. GET OFF THE CHIGARA TRAAAAAIN. Asaga has the force. Sweet.
We are TOTALLY going to have to bust Kryska out of jail. Oh, for the record, Sola is coming to protect me. Whatever that means. Also, my sense of honor and debt is going to get me killed.
YES. AVA ADMITS HER FEELINGS. I am VINDICATED.
Love you too Icari. Wait, my Yuri KryskaxIcari ship! NOOOOOOOOO, I was rooting for that! Fuck, Sola too?? At least Kryska is still a bro. AAAAAAAAAAAnd Claude has given up hiding her OP super powers.
OH SHIT. PACT has chicks besides hordes of Prototypes. On the other hand, this expositions feels super weird. There's no WAY the characters would be talking about Arcadius' death, like this. It's a bad exposition dump that's breaking suspension of disbelief.
Please don't tell me Kayto actually BELIEVES Claude. God damnit, HE DID. You're not that stupid! Thank god people like Ava and Sola are looking out for us.
Since when did Sola major in Time-Space theory? The hell?
Beta over.
Okay, reviews. Writing is baaaad. There's just no way around it. People are giving unnatural explanations, exposition dumps, the tones are wrong, and things feel like ass-pulls. Looks like PACT might come back as a possible faction you could join. But that seems unlikely unless we decide to simply blame everything on the Prototypes and make buddy buddy with PACT. Oh, and Fontana will have to be replaced by Joan of Arc I mean whoever the new PACT girl is. Sooo, yea. Since the writing is all this update is (basically), it's pretty bad IMO. I understand that it's mostly to tide over people who went WTF ENDING, WTF RAILROAD, and it succeeds in making me less mad. Problem is, it feels REALLY stupid now.
For the Future, and the next game/other updates. Give me a rescue Kryska mission. You sunk my KryskaxIcari ship. Give it back. It was one of the things I actually liked about the Liberation Day story. I will deliberately choose options to create this reality if I can because I think it's adorable and makes Icari and Kryska have more of a love/hate relationship. Chop up and divide this Exposition dump else where. Also make it more natural. Mystery is fine, just appropriately tease it. Then you can do reveals, give the bad guys more depth besides "Fuck the clones and capitalist pigdogs". Make Kayto less stupid, unless Claude hit him with a stupid-but-sexy ray. I don't actually mind the Claude is a God (or close to it) thing. Is this Awaken thing going to be some sort of Living Force, Jedi thing? I don't know how I would feel about that, but it's starting to shape up like that.
Overall, this update makes me less mad at Liberation Day, but I pounded my head into my desk because my suspension of disbelief had to be taken to the back and shot for it's own good.

While I didn't mind much the exposition given just how much desperately it was needed (like, we knew nothing of Alice and real Arcadius if we hadn't read Veniczar), it's true that in general it was done very clumsily, the same with the characters seeming to speak more in long speeches instead of dialogues.
And I still don't know how you can tell as asspulls things that were predicted and fairly agreed on before 2.00, but as it seems more than one person seems to have had that problem before I'll stop.

Alpha's conversation with Claude itself wasn't very strange, but the way Sola revealed it really felt pretty asspullish.

I also felt that the continuous explanation hurt this segment. I might have forgiven the bad explanations if there was simply more content and plot between them. To give me time for my sense of disbelief to recover.
Agreed that the way they were executed was a major issue. Claude and Alpha both talk about subjects they BOTH already know about (Alpha's plans, her motivations, the fact that Claude is bored and horny). The only thing that I felt interested in was Chigara's survival and attacks on the hivemind. Fontana and Kuushana's conversation about Arcadius was even worse, because they both clearly acknowledged that they both knew everything they were saying and talking about it was simply wasted breath. We've already talked about this, but again, Sola's sudden understanding of Time and Space was crazy.
Also, was I the only one that was really thrown into a loop by Kuushana's name? Because I saw her character model, assumed that PACT was basically Russia, and hoped she would get a Russian or Eastern European name. Finally, if I were put under duress, I would say that Sola got her knowledge from the events of Sunrider Academy. If this is true, it makes this far less ass-pully, but it was communicated badly and resulted in a huge disconnect from the audience.

Finally, if I were put under duress, I would say that Sola got her knowledge from the events of Sunrider Academy. If this is true, it makes this far less ass-pully, but it was communicated badly and resulted in a huge disconnect from the audience. Actually, on the LibDay homepage, it DOES directly reference Sola's "dimensional-refracted" copies an their being split up over multiple realities - in fact it kinda hints that Sola herself is aware of all this. That in turn implies that what we see in Sola's route of Academy is true, and that our Sola made contact with the Academy Kayto (or ONE of them, at least - I assume that each route of SA is an alternate timeline and therefore that they technically all happened).
So as far as we know, Sola DOES in fact have knowledge of Academy's events (or at least events as they pertain to the timeline where one of her copies fell in love with Kayto). And it could have been implanted by Sola explaining she had a phantom link to her copies (saw their lives and memories in her dreams or the like) prior to the Academy Kayto and Academy Chigara destroying the machine that made the dimensional bleed possible (which in turn explains why Sola is still around in the Asaga, Ava and Chigara routes - what was done in the timeline of the Sola route echoed into all others and stabilized Sola's presence - good GOD, this is grade-A Doctor Who material!!).
Short answer - it's pretty likely that Sola does know about Academy's events and that would have been a very good way to explain it all. And who knows - maybe that's what Sola WILL say and she's just holding out for now because it's a touchy subject at the moment(?) Long story short(er) - yeah, it could have been implemented better. Still better then what we had before, but it could have had some better execution.

I think this update basically boils down to a failure in execution. There are a ton of decent ideas locked up in 2.00. Its just very hard to get around how absurd those ideas come across and how the lead up to their presentation was bad.

Its just very hard to get around how absurd those ideas come across and how the lead up to their presentation was bad. I think you're being a tad harsh. I agree, the execution was fairly bad (though I expected it given how rushed it was), but at the same time this are the kind of mistakes that are done countless times on almost every production. I think the Fontana-Kushana dialogue it's a good way to show it: yes, it's the dreaded "You-know-this-already" mixed with long speeches instead of actual dialogue, but at the same time the information it gives it's actually extremely necessary and does so much (At least to those who haven't read Veniczar) in a very little number of lines. The "hug" scene was similar; the emotional payoff is strong enough to slip by the awkward forms. It's why I think 2.00 has in general been received so positively. I mean, I never would write it like that, and if he has time Samu-kun should seriously polish those parts and dialogue. But at the same time, well, prose has never been a strong point of Sunrider and the dialogue has always been kind of unpolished, so it's never been a terrible hurdle. I actually have more problems with the horrible pacing and flow of Liberation day in general.

But when I write and articulate critiques, I almost never say positive things. It's always things that could be improved along with ways to improve them. I keep trying to do that, but its pretty hard for me. Agreed, the Fontana-Kushana scene had a decent amount of information. Though, I get the feeling that I already knew that, drew conclusions based on previous conversations between Alice and Alpha (Those two get mixed up in my head, Alpha feels more like and Alice and visa versa). I understand that not everyone might have realized it. Also agreed that the Sunrider Crew reunites had some good emotional payoff, with both the hug and the scene where Ava asks for forgiveness. Since we are still giving feedback, the extra choices in 2.00 actually worry me. Part of the reason I felt so dissatisfaction with Liberation Day was the shift from what felt like a Route Based game to a Kinetic Novel. I understand WHY it happened, cutting down on the choices and divergences so we can actually have a coherent and dramatic story, but it was still very frustrating. However, with the 2.00 update we again got a lot of choices for the amount of dialog. This is... worrying to me. Once burned Twice shy as the saying goes. While I admit this is what I want, I don't want another Liberation Day where we have to attempt to re conciliate all the possible choices a player might have made and end up with a story that satisfies no one. I would much rather be locked into a single, kinetic route with maybe two different states based on whether Kayto is Idealistic vs Pragmatic, then have a good story with the rising action, pacing and tension I crave. While I definitely want Kayto to hook up with Ava, I don't want it to the detriment of the story. Like in Muv LuvAlternative, while Meiya might be my favorite heroine, I recognize and accept the necessity of Sumika's relationship.

Like in Muv LuvAlternative, while Meiya might be my favorite heroine, I recognize and accept the necessity of Sumika's relationship. Don't worry, I understand. On the Fontana-Kushana conversation, I think the important part is that it confirms Fotana's origin and Arcadius' end; while there was an idea before, the confirmation is worse than I thought and kinda makes Alice more understandable (I mean, I for example thought that Arcadius was killed by an internal rival for Compact's leadership, but being killed by the same mob you've lead until now while trying to protect the Emperor is infinitely worse). That together with giving a very nice view of how will the PACT-Alliance will unfold makes it an overall nice scene. On choices... I actually share a bit of that worry. For now however I'm more calm due to 2 things: First is how quick 2.0 was ready (6 days, but they actually decided to make it 1 day after release); even if you work non-stop it's almost impossible to have that kind of content ready if you have nothing (specially as you need art and the 3D backgrounds). So I'm pretty sure Samu-kun actually has a decent storyboard done already; probably with scenes and what "will be done" in each. And second is how Samu-kun has told us he faces each game as an "anime season"; I could very well see a shift from a mostly linear game to a multi-route one (basically, the inverse process of that from Unlimited to Alternative). And sincerely, that with how frustrating Lib day's writing was 80% of the time I think Samu-kun is probably genuinely better at having choices than at making a kinetic novel.

Here's to hope. I genuinely like this series. I bought both Academy and Lib Day despite less then stellar reviews about both. I'm always hungry for good tactics games and this game feeds that itch in a very real way. Academy showed that Samu-kun can write good character arcs, Sola's route exhibited excellent writing IMO. I just want the game to live up to that gleam I saw in MoA.

My only regret is that we don't see more writing and interaction. I feel like Academy would have been stellar (as opposed to just good) if they had just made it a VN (and focused the effort spent on the simulation into writing more material) instead of a repetitive management sim.

Personally I hope the goal remains to balance both the writing and the gameplay, as others have mentioned it may even be worth getting a writer to feedback on the plot / plot pacing just to ensure that the process does not become biased - heck I am sure Sekai Project has resources you can tap into for this.
I also think some people are still getting hung up in their 1.00 opinions, there was a purpose to the writing picking up Chigara as the main love interest of LD - it wasn't presented to the best of its potential in the writing but from 2.00 we now know that she survives and the events of LD have left her in quite an unstable state - this will potentially affect one of the universe's factions (the prototypes) however at this stage those details are still unknown. I am sure controllable romances will play a part at some point however introducing it early would potentially complicate the story tree by adding more and more branch variations where more story development could go instead, I am not saying that the full romance routes should be ignored but nor do I think they have to be dropped into every Sunrider game.
Players may have originally accepted this earlier on if the game was advertised as episodic rather than more like a trilogy (as was suggested in the original kickstarter), but whats done is done and the only thing I really want to see is more forthcoming information on what is happening and what the decisions made were.
A core aspect of Sunrider is its tactical gameplay, I would hate to see this slashed just to squeeze in a bit more romantic dialogue but also vice versa if it leads to a half baked story entry for the brand. I really enjoyed both the beta and the release of Liberation Day, but it could have gone further with a bit more development time and better communication.

Oh, don't get me wrong. The main game series needs the tactical bits.
But the wonderful thing is that, in most cases with gameplay and dialogue/story (romantic and otherwise), you can have your cake and eat it too. It might take longer, but making sure the finished product is marvelous in both the tactical sense and the story sense is key to continued success.
Continued so-so releases will see even those of us with hope pulling out, in time.

My final opinion is that I think Samu-kun needs to put a brake on things, make a new development roadmap showing the plan for the series as well as how the original kickstarter goals fit into it and then let us see a less confidential copy of it because I think we are all a bit confused on where we are going with this series. That way we have something to hold to account next time rather than as you say 'continued so so releases'.

Clearly we need another Academy style spinn off with the waifus that didn't get picked for the first one.
Because reasons.
In all seriousness I'm still of the belief that LD has been a valuable learning experience. I'm probably repeating myself for the umpteenth time but that's still how I feel about it.

Clearly we need another Academy style spinn off with the waifus that didn't get picked for the first one. Because reasons. I don't see what could go wrong. (Achievement unlocked: Cosette set the Academy on fire.)

(Achievement unlocked: Cosette set the Academy on fire.) That's only if you fail the first major event. Cosette's route sees her going all the way down to 10% yan 90% dere.

To be fair, the Ongessi Exchange Program really should have told the Academy that Cosette liked burning things.

To be fair, the Ongessi Exchange Program really should have told the Academy that Cosette liked burning things. They were going to. Then she kept burning things so they decided to ship her off and cut their losses. It's Cera's problem now.

Can't go much worse than his first meeting with Icari at Kendo Club, who is wondering how in the world Asaga's still in charge of it despite not being the most FURIOUS KENDO STUDENT.
